Its founder, Nigel Ede, was an active ornithologist and natural history book collector who combined his professional expertise as publisher with his life-long interests. Careful selection of material ensured Arlequin Press were known for their fine reputation for publishing excellent natural history titles.

CJ WildBird Foods Ltd acquired the name of Arlequin Press in 2005. Although no longer publishing new titles, CJ WildBird Foods Ltd still sell several Arlequin Press titles amongst their vast book collection.
